Reposing at the residence of his nephew Liam Gannon in Hazelrock Lodge, Ayle F28 AC81, on Wednesday (July 6th) from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Requiem Mass on Thursday (July 7th) at 12:00pm in St. Patrick's Church, Aughagower, with the funeral proceeding to Aughagower Cemetery.

Tommy's Funeral Mass will be live streamed on the Facebook page of Aughagower Cushlough Parish.

Funeral will arrive to Aughagower Church at 11:30am via Tonlegee.

The death has taken place at Mayo General Hospital of Austin McGing, Tonlegee, Aughagower, a member of a long established and well-known family in the locality.

Son of the late Thomas and Margaret McGing ( nee Hastings), Austin was reared in an era when goals in life were achieved through hard work, dedication and commitment. Raised on the family farm, Austin grew up to appreciate the work of his Creator as he worked in harmony with nature in caring for his farm animals. Among the highlights in his farming calendar were the fair days in Aughagower and Tourmakeady, where he enjoyed meeting many old friends in the farming community.

Austin believed that if a job was worth doing it was worth doing well and the neat manner in which he carried out his work on his farm bore testament to that belief.

Those who crossed the threshold into his home always received a warm welcome. In his heart he held a special affection for his relatives from overseas and enjoyed the occasions when they came to visit him in Tonlegee.

His funeral took place from his residence to Aughagower Church and after Requiem Mass he was laid to rest in the local cemetery.

To his brother, Tommy (Tonlegee); sister, Annie Gannon (Drummin); Bea McDonnell, Tourmakeady, his nieces and nephews and his many other relatives and friends we extend our sincerest sympathies.

Anne Theresa Durr, 88, of Bad Axe passed away Monday, August 2, 2004, at the Huron
County Medical Care Facility. Born in Westport, Ireland on January 15, 1916, she was
the daughter of the late Patrick and Anne (McGing) Gibbons. She and Charles Durr
were married in England in 1945 and moved to Bad Axe in 1946. She worked at the Bean
Pot, cooked at the Sacred Heart Catholic School in Bad Axe, was employed at Bad Axe
General Hospital, and worked for Hamill Manufacturing for 17 years. She enjoyed
gardening, race horses, and playing cards. She is survived by two sons, William Durr, of
Caro, and Carl and his wife, Betty, of Bad Axe; one daughter, Maureen Durr, of Bad
Axe; two brothers, Austin Gibbons of England, and Paddy Gibbons and his wife,
Margaret, of Ireland; two sisters, Sara Gillard of New Jersey, and Kathleen Lavell of
England; six grandchildren, Ann Durr of Bad Axe, Billy Durr Jr. of Caro, Robin Durr of
Bad Axe, Kelly Durr of Bad Axe, Brandon Durr of Bad Axe, and Robby Durr of
Madison Heights. Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, in 1972; one
son, Charles Robert, in 1990; three sisters, Agnes Timothy, Margaret Dougherty, and
Julia Crnkovich; and one brother, John Gibbons. Mass of Christian Burial will be
conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 4, 2004, at the Sacred Heart Catholic
Church of Bad Axe. Father James Carlson will officiate. There will be a Rosary Service
at 7 p.m. today at MacAlpine Funeral Home, Bad Axe. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m.
today and from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will
